Hi I'm looking for a twist grip housing for my D14/4. It's the one with the front brake lever mounting attached and the cable adjuster is on the bottom of the front fork not at the twist grip end. Last piece req. to get my bike mobile. Not bothered about appearance so long as serviceable with no splits. Make a friend for life.

I've got one or two old things laying about somewhere, but I thought they were Ariel or someything. I'm also finishing my D14 Sport also...you sure you mean that throttle control and lever assy. are all one piece? Pics of above ebay items are not.
Four now on the road and at least several in bits.

Hi, hard to tell condition from photo, it looks to be the right part, is there any damage to the casting where the throttle tensioner screws in on the underside, if that's all good then I would love to buy it, if so let me know how you want payment and details. Cheers
The casting is fine, I have the tensioner, but the screw is missing. Chrome has cleaned up well but started to flake off slightly on the underside. Here's a pic of the underside before it was cleaned. Will PM you my details.

Hello, I've been looking for something similar.
If you don't really need chrome you could look for the Ariel Arrow / Dandy part that is very similar although the levers & twist grip are shorter but look to be interchangeable.
Have a look at this :- ** Please log in to view **. some useful info.

Showing a chap my D1 last week, I was surprise to find the front brake even more useless than I'd remembered, cause turned out to be insufficiently tightened throttle clamp screws were allowing assembly to rotate under heavy acceleration (!) thereby jamming the ferrule of the cable adjuster between the lever and grip. Dangerous!

I hoicked out my two versions of what this post is about and instantly realised the difference and the perhaps life saving benefit of how these later ones are constructed, they simply canot rotate apart and jam in the brake lever.

Gave my two a good strip down, clean and wire wheel treatment, Solvol polish too, the new ultrasonic cleaner brought the Doherty hard rubber grip up a treat also.
Thanks for posting this and informing us all.
