Hi all.  I seem to be missing a bracket for my 66 D7. It supports the covers on either side of the battery and is held by rectifier bracket on the rear bumper.

I hope that makes sense, I have been looking at parts catalogues and scouring photos of bantams, but so far can only see bits of it in the corner of old photos.

If someone has one, then happy to cover postage and cost, if not the it looks like I'll be making something up to get the job done!!

Thanks for reading and ill try to get back to any responses as soon as possible!!

Hi

I have been looking for a part number, but cannot find anything.

Looks like I'm going to be making something up to fit. Shouldn't be to hard to do.

Thanks for the help

is this the one?

I can send measurements if you need them or send the bracket as a pattern?

regards

I think the part number for the D7 / D10 is 90-9389. it is slightly different to the one above which I think is from a D14/B175.

I think that you could modify the one above to fit with a little heat and a bit of love on the anvil.

Hi Gents, Sorry for the late reply.

It looks like it is the 90-9389. Thanks for looking and letting me know.

There is one listed on e-bay, but I have managed to find a perfect piece of metal and was going to give it a go in making one, but have been called back into work. So it will have to wait till next week now.

If it doesn't go well or looks a bit rubbish then i'll go and buy the one of e-bay, but to be honest i quite fancy making my own now.

I'll let you know how i get on.

Well said Sunny. I think that every classic bike should have at least one part on it that is 'owner made'. Essential chemistry if we want to feel a bond with our bikes.

If you need measurements then let me know..I have a D10 in bits  on the bench at present and that part is readilly accessible.

Well, a sllight change of plan.  I found this on ebay and it was cheap enough so i bought it.

I still do have a couple of home made parts on the old bike, exhaust bracket being the latest, but that was due to me not ordering one in time and not being patient enough to wait!!

I hope you don't intend using an old selenium rectifier.
