Hi everybody,

My BSA Bushman has been knocking around on the ramp for a while now and needs a few parts to get it finished off. I don't suppose anybody has got an exhaust heat shield, BSA Part Number: 90-3165?

Would anyone be willing to part with theirs for a reasonable price?

Thank you so much!

Woodchuck

I have one of those in its original BSA wrapping - NOS good chrome, straight etc - have tried to sell it previously but nobody was interested and some bloke from Wolverhampton got quite abusive on the phone about it (why I do not know).  I found it in amongst the piles of treasure at Sid's place in Radcliffe about 35 years ago, there was a box full of them. I knew it was a bushman part but Sid's assistant was adamant it was off an Ariel Arrow and charged me £2.50 for it.  I mentioned it to Bantam John at Bolton Autojumble a few days later and he got quite excited....wanting to know exactly where the box of heat shields was etc.....I think he went to Sid's and bought them all up on the spot.  That heatshiled has caused me a lot of stress although I don't know why people get so uptight about it.  Some bloke went out of his way to tell me it was wrong when I took the Bushman to a show several years ago and told me he would take it off my hands for £10....when I said no thanks he also got quite animated and at one point I thought the conversation might go kinetic, thankfully it didn't but he did seem very determined to get me to remove it from the bike !!

So Woodchuck....if it is to get your Bushman on the road then you can have it for £5 plus P&P - I have no desire to make a profit on a part that just winds people up anyway.... is that reasonable ? If you are interested then please PM me for details etc
