Hi all,

Does anyone have one of these in reasonable condition that they're willing to sell? Would prefer dent-free but a bit of surface rust wouldn't be a problem.

Thanks guys.

Hello all,

Still looking for a B175 (or D14/4S) Headlight Rim, rusty chrome not an issue.

Would prefer undented but any condition considered and a fair price will be paid.

TIA.

Hello FitzFortune

I have been trying to find a headlight rim for my B175 too

I didn`t have any luck, so I bought a brand new D1- D3 Headlamp rim from the auction site, not bad quality and a good price, it is the same size and fits the headlight shell

The only trouble is that the D1-D3 ONE HAS A lug at the bottom of it for a bolt to go through to tighten the rim to the shell

I bent it back gently flat, so that I can hopefully attatch it with a bolt to the bottom of the headlamp shell ( notice the word hopefully ! )

Well I thought it would be worth a go, as I have had no luck in finding a B175 one anywhere

Anyway, good luck with your search

Mark

Lucas still make them. About £15 from various suppliers. They also fitted them to old cars so you can look outside of the motorcycle trade as well.

Many thanks, Mark.

I managed eventually to buy a D1 headlamp rim from Howard (Bournemouth Bantams) - none on eBay that I could see and apparently they are becoming hard to find now too.

You mean the Lucas 534343? First thing I did was buy one of those, as the vendor claimed it fitted the B175 headlamp shell. It doesn't, the diameter is a few millimetres too big for a start. Great if you have a D7/10/13/14 though.

Howard from Bournemouth Bantams mentioned that it's relatively common for people to mistakenly think that the B175/D14/4s rim is the same as the earlier D7 (etc.) one.

Yes I am aware that the B175 has a slightly deeper headlight rim but I have never had a problem getting one to fit. I sourced my last one from C&D autos in Warwickshire.

Thanks for the suggestion, but C&D Autos can't help either:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your enquiry re; BSA B175 Bantam spare parts.

I regret that I am unable to help this time.

The B175 rim is slightly smaller and slightly deeper than the D7/10/14 models.

...

Yours faithfully,

Ian Croft
