As I’ve agreed to be the new Club Area Rep, following Kev’s moving out of the area, I thought I should introduce myself.

My first Bantam was bought from a school friend for £50. A D14/4, what it lacked in speed and reliability it made up for in ‘character’! I also had a C15 and then, briefly, a T120V Bonneville. I then had a long break from ‘bikes coming back to them when I turned forty and gained a D3 SA with a D5 engine.  It took quite a while to get that together and running and then I sold it.  My current Bantam is a mongrel of a bike and anything but standard, it usually goes well if not too quickly.  I also have a genuine D10 home market Bushman awaiting re-building (that’s next year’s project).

I’m in Felixstowe having moved from North London three years or so ago, so not exactly central to the county!  I thought that rather than start with a regular club night I would concentrate on arranging monthly ride-outs in the New Year to some of the many places of interest and beauty spots in the county. So keep your eyes peeled for a calendar of events.  It would also be great to continue Kev’s great work in representing the Club at local shows.

Do get in touch with any suggestions about possible destinations.

Looking forward to getting to know you all in the coming year.

Well done for taking on what is usually such a thankless task. My only advice would be to do the things YOU want to do, shows, ride outs, meetings etc. that you’re  happy with. Then just tell everyone what you’re doing. If no one comes, you’re still doing something you want to do.
Good luck!

Current bikes......1958 D5,  and a 76 Honda C90 in the workshop.

Hi Stu,

Good intro & congratulations on your new role as Suffolk rep. Like you I have just taken over as the club rep for Norfolk. Perhaps we can work together on joint events & runs next year?

All the best & I'll be in touch,

Well done Stu for stepping up to the plate! I am sure you will do a great job. I am hoping to pop back at some point during the summer & bring a bike along to attend the odd show. Hopefully we can catch up at some point.
