hello,i am new to the club, and being a novice have had lots of help and good advice in the short time I have been a member.the d1 bantam I am trying to get on the road is now at the stage where a dating certificate is required.if anyone is close to newcostessey,Norwich and could assist me with the signing of the back of the photo to verify the bike I would be grateful.i can pick you up and take you home again and work in with times etc.the problem is I don't think I know any one that qualifies to sign it.the d1 is no oil painting,i just want to get it on the road and improve it as I go.thankyou,stuart.NUMBER REMOVED _ MOD and I will ring back.

Please PM Stuart if you can help him, Mod.

I'm sure there must be someone you know who could do this for you? Any professional will do, or someone in public service, retired civil servant, anyone of good standing in the community really.

Good luck, I hope you get someone to help soon.

Current bikes......1958 D5,  and a 76 Honda C90 in the workshop.

The ultrasonic cleaner is your friend, Stuart! Some of the D1/D3 guys on here use them every month I'm told. I got mine from Aldi, just down the road from you, but they are available all over the place.

I'd fit a fuel filter to deal with the fine silt that seems to clog up our little carbs.

The last time I got a age related plate from the DVLA, it only took about 10 days so I'm expecting to see a new Bantam out & about in Norwich in a week or so!

Have fun.

well not on the road yet.dvla want to inspect the bike before considering issuing a number plate.i think its because the s for springer is actually a .5. on the frame number.they have been very efficient and  are coming to my abode on may 5th.i am however hopeful that they will ok it and let me loose on the road.

This is why i like being a member of this club , great to see members helping each other out like this. in the year or so that i have been a member i have asked for help / info a couple of times and someone in the club has always helped.

And i speak from experience that in other clubs this is not always the case.

Jim ,the Bramley Bantam.  thumbs-up

It might be worth trying your dentist for an ultrasonic cleaner. I got mine from my dentist. He said they have to change them every 6 months.
