Hello Sam,

I cannot see any photos, don't know if it's just my computer.

Would be interested to see them.

Good luck with it.

Hi Sam

My mate's daughter runs one of those on the Exeter trial - made it up Simms last 2 years. It goes really well for a 50.

(see her DT50 2'.18" in....that's her parents Andy and Anita on the GPZ 500 outfit just before making it look easy)

Just been Sam - always early January.

That's the main trial - a pretty tough outing and one that Xanthia has done a few times so she knows what's in store. I would recommend the beginners class 0 first and then go for the main trial. We found that pretty tough going this year - we wrote about it recently in General Discussion - have a look.

(and that's me on the MZ at 7'38"!)

The "kit Kar" at 21.28 could have done with some country and western tyres, methinks!

Four now on the road and at least several in bits.

Hi Sam,

Takes me back to my Uni days.  Had an old DT175.  Does yours have the power band?.  Only encountered 2 problems with mine. It could be hard to start and more often than not had to be bump started despite best efforts with the battery (quite hairy, as soon as you dropped the clutch she would fire and off you went down the street with the front wheel up lol).  Secondly, watch for steering head wobble/vibration at higer speeds on tarmac.  Dont know if other DT models suffered from this but mine was a «censored»!.  Even after strip down and rebuild with new bearings etc.  However other than that it was a good bike.

Enjoy,

Maddog

Hi Maddog

Wouldn't be able to tell you about either starting it or the steering head as i have not had it running yet ! Need to get it running for Thursday which is going to be a right push to get it finished and my mate has a dt175 they are really nippy!

Cheers Sam
