Okay people I have just bought this little gem/nightmare. I am in 2 minds, do I break it or restore it.

Obviously it is a bike that is not for the faint hearted but I am a person who likes to think he can save every British bike that comes along.

What would you people do.

P.S I only paid £100 for it no documents but have registration number and can see frame number

It doesn’t look too bad, good buy at that price too. Have a go at restoring it....

Cracking buy and looks like you have 90% of the main components there so should be a nice restoration

Maybe an uncut diamond? Is it a Cub? Certainly worth a go at and see how much work it needs, would be a shame to break it. I'm sure there would be a ready market for the whole bike anyway.

Looks great to me, many original parts. The brake and clutch lever on the welded lug bars would probably set you back that much if you could find them

Well looks like it's decided then. A new project has begun.

Before I do any work I think I'll take the wife away this weekend to soften the blow of another bike in the garage (she doesn't know yet)

Thank you for all your thought's on it.

Anyone got any tiger cub  spares lying around 😂

Only just spotted your little beauty 5 months later.

Love them, always had a Cub about the place and got Mike Estall’s - The Tiger Cub Bible handy if you ever need some data.

Shame Steve in USA pulled his superb forum the other year, but it was getting too much running it all by himself. Included vast valuable contributor`s info.

Lost out bidding for the Cub Bible half-a-dozen times now 🙁   60-70 quid and upwards they're going for. Will just have to strike lucky in a junk shop....

If it were mine, I’d “oily rag” that. It’s too complete and original to “restore” IMHO, you’d sink 3-4 times its value into making it as-new, and you’d replace so much stuff it wouldn’t still be the same bike. I’ve a D3 in the same kind of state, and I’ve slowly been sourcing the necessary s/h bits to replace what’s missing. I’m only going to buy new for things like tyres and safety critical.

I sold a Tiger Cub Bible not long ago for around £20 I think. I do have a Tiger cub parts list on DVD if anyone wants it for the price of postage? Would have to be UK only I reckon and should post anywhere for a maximum of £2
