Engine 24352YD

Frame YD1 24189

First reg 1/4/1950 LRO 274

Hopefully this all seems correct. I'm hoping you can confirm that it might be a Comp model?

Hi Chris,

Engine 24352 and frame 24189 left the factory together on the 25th November 1949, and was sent to Pepper and Haywood in Royston. There is no indication in the records that this machine was anything other than a standard bike, sorry. Be proud that it is a very early Bantam and a matched pair.

Current bikes......1958 D5, a 77 Suzuki GT250 and a 77 Honda CB125S. I have a 74 Kawasaki S3 400 and a B175 waiting for restoration. A 1980 Honda CB400N waiting for MOT.  Everyday ride is a 2011 Harley Davidson Sportster.

thanks Steve - its got some genuine comp parts. Do you know if it would usually/ always be recorded in the records if it was a Comp model, or depended on which way the wind was blowing on the day? Still a nice project either way.

I would expect it to be recorded in the records if it was anything other than standard. That doesn't mean to say that it would definitely be recorded there though, what I expect and what BSA did are two different things, they were a law unto themselves!
