Hello all,

I've just joined the forum. I live in South Oxfordshire, near to Wallingford if anyone knows it. I work in aircraft engineering for the day job.

I have a D7 which needs a bit of work and registering. Hopefully I'll get around to it this year, having just moved into a house with a garage and room for my tools and lathe.

I have had quite a few bikes over the years, mostly Japanese but some British and Italian. My last 'big' bike was a TRX850 which I built to my own spec with uprated suspension and brakes.

I've thinned down now and only have the Bantam and my son's dirt bikes to take up room in the workshop!

I'm sure I will be asking lots of questions, not least since the Bantam is a twin switch model but appears to have a direct lighting engine fitted. Lots of fun awaits I'm sure!

Kind regards,

Dean.

Stewart,

Thanks for the warm welcome and top tips on using the forum. I think joining the club will be a good idea.

My initial thoughts were to build a trials bike as my sons ride off road. It just seemed too good a bike to start with.

Kind regards

Dean.

Unitminor,

Cheers for replying. Yes, the curious AC lights with DC charging and ignition. Also used on Simson machines, I'm crazy enough to have had a couple of those too! Glutten for it...

I'll need to establish which Wipac Stator and Rotor to pick up to convert my ignition coil on stator engine to coil under the seat. I suspect I'm in the right place.

Rather poor picture of my Bantam waiting for me to get my finger out, sort the workshop and start working on it.

Sorry, too big a file.

Thanks Sunny. There is a B175 unit available but I'll have to ask what numbers are marked on it.

Managed to get my picture uploaded!

Cheers,

Dean.

Welcome  Dean & hello from along the road in Reading.

Once we're  able to get out & about again the area meet is not far from you at Hendred. So hopefully you can meet up with a few Bantam locals.

Hi Dean,

Welcome to the forum, as Barrie said, hopefully whenever the situation gets a bit better I can try to restart the Oxon and Berks area again.

Looking forward to possibly seeing you in the future at the local meet.

Kind Regards,
