Hello all,
I've just joined the forum. I live in South Oxfordshire, near to Wallingford if anyone knows it. I work in aircraft engineering for the day job.Â
I have a D7 which needs a bit of work and registering. Hopefully I'll get around to it this year, having just moved into a house with a garage and room for my tools and lathe.Â
I have had quite a few bikes over the years, mostly Japanese but some British and Italian. My last 'big' bike was a TRX850 which I built to my own spec with uprated suspension and brakes.
I've thinned down now and only have the Bantam and my son's dirt bikes to take up room in the workshop!
I'm sure I will be asking lots of questions, not least since the Bantam is a twin switch model but appears to have a direct lighting engine fitted. Lots of fun awaits I'm sure!
Kind regards,
Dean.Â

Unitminor,

Cheers for replying. Yes, the curious AC lights with DC charging and ignition. Also used on Simson machines, I'm crazy enough to have had a couple of those too! Glutten for it...
I'll need to establish which Wipac Stator and Rotor to pick up to convert my ignition coil on stator engine to coil under the seat. I suspect I'm in the right place.Â

Hi Dean,
Â
Welcome to the forum, as Barrie said, hopefully whenever the situation gets a bit better I can try to restart the Oxon and Berks area again.
Looking forward to possibly seeing you in the future at the local meet.
Â
Kind Regards,
Â
