So I stumbled onto a Bantam bushman trials bike, the bike has been stripped and in storage for around 15 years, its time to get her back into shape. Everything looks to be there, this is going to be fun, please be patient with my many questions, its my first BSA

Welcome to the forum Hamtheman

Looks like a good project you have found there. Please consider raising a topic in the restoration section which we will all follow with interest.

You will find just about everything you could ever want on the Forum via the FAQs and technical sections. It makes life a bit easier when searching to use Google and the template "your query site:Bsabantamclub.com " e.g. "fuel mixsite:Bsabantamclub.com” you'll get more focused results than using the Forums internal search engine.

However, the Online Community is a place where members can come for help, support, or just to vent, and we'll always do our best to help them. One of the great things about the forum is that as well as gaining information, people can hear about others' experiences. Therefore, we encourage people to continue asking questions so that other members of the community, can be as helpful and supportive as possible.

It's a good idea to include your location in your profile, as there maybe members local; we have members from worldwide locations; to you who would love to help, see your bike or invite you on ride outs.

If you join the Club ** Please log in to view ** this opens other technical info on the forum in the members only area and gets you discount with a multitude of suppliers and businesses.

We are all very keen to see pics too. There is a 1mb size limit for pics. More info here. ** Please log in to view **

I will watch with interest the total rebuild of this bike. The bushman is a very popular model and very hard to get hold of genuine ones in the UK

Nice!

Whereabouts in SA are you? My son in law is from PE.

looks like most of it is there although some non standard parts (eg forks, carb) but no worries there, they should all work.  You should get Steve Walsh to check the frame number as he’ll be able to tell you the history and where it was sent.  The export models were usually single seat and called Bushman Pastoral.  There’s some good stuff on the site on the Bushman including a report on one in NZ.

Next on my list is my D10 Bushman which is the first in the dynasty and slightly different.

Regards.

D7/14 hybrid (4 speed with D7 crank etc.) on the road, D10 Bushman awaiting rebuilding.

Thanks Sunny, I am in Johannesburg, good point on the frame number I'll have a look this evening. As mentioned the bike competed in trials and as such would have probably been modified accordingly. The carb is an Amal, not sure which model, I believe it has a 3 speed gearbox
