Just found this forum when looking for bits for the D1. She's a 52 model, my old man had her for going to work back in 1960, last registered in 1962 and from 1968, when I was 10 was used as a field bike for about 6 years. Been idle in the shed since 1975 ish, I started her up about 10 years ago, had a massive belt off the mag, wipec I think, put fuel in and started fourth or fifth kick, then put away again for a rainy day. Now retired so rainy day has arrived, hope to do it up so no 2 grandson can have use of it.

And also thank you for allowing me to join,

Lampy

Hi Lampy and welcome,

Great to see a photo of your long suffering Bantam, it all looks serviceable and usable. Think you have a little gem there.

Good luck with your restorations and please keep us all informed of your progress, with photo's...

Croeso Lampy. Lovely looking D1, no doubt pretty solid under that surface rust, just needs a little polish with an oily rag after getting her rolling. then off on those W.Wales lanes.

Hi Lampy. You said "Now retired so rainy day has arrived". Many would say that retirement sees the arrival of sunny days. So, get your sun glasses on and enjoy that Bantam !
