Hello my name is Chris and I joined the Club early Dec.
I now, as of 23 Dec, own a 1964 Bantam D7 courtesy of a Forum advert, purchased from a real gentleman and fellow club member.Â
Despite wanting bikes in my teens, at 56 I am new to riding in 2020 and apologies (!) also own a new CB125F to learn on. Can't wait to pass full test and make use of the D7 in the spring.Â
The D7 is stablemate to my 1950 Series 1 Land Rover I have owned since 1987. I've been wanting a Bantam for many years either 1950 to match the LR, so a D1, or a bike the same as my DOB and after finally getting my CBT in July the D7 came up first.Â
Already finding the Forum and Club website a godsend for information.
I hope to join Club & Area Events etc in 2021 if life starts reverting back to reality!
Chris

Hello Chris, welcome to the forum. Don't worry about owning a Honda (or any other make or age of bike). You will find a modern bike easier to learn on and safer in today's traffic conditions than an old Bantam. Once you have some experience, the Bantam is fine for sunny jaunts (though there will be plenty who disagree, including members who regularly do long distances on theirs). Whatever, good luck with the test and runs out on whatever bike you choose.

Hi Chris and a warm festive welcome to the Club and the Forum. Glad that your purchase all went smoothly and you're raring to go. As Cocorico says, don't worry about the Honda - or anything else you might own- we're a very broad church here and accommodate all kinds of machinery. It looks like the D7you bought is all ready to go and already in great condition, so hopefully it'll continue like that for a long time to come. 🙂
You will find just about everything you could ever want on the Forum via the FAQs and technical sections;Â ** Please log in to view **
Have a really good nose around the forum and enjoy yourself. Looking forward to seeing your progress with both bikes
Good Luck!
All the very best for Xmas and New Year,
Stewart
