Hi, I'm Keith. Been a Teessider all my life.Â
At 14 my dad said if I could get his James 150 going I could have it and he told me how to set the timing. He wouldn't let me have a moped. (Fizzy) Started my apprenticeship at British Steel in 74. A workmate was selling a Triumph T110, so at 16 I had a 650 Triumph. I sneaked out on it sometimes when he was at work. A young lad down the road got a D1 to blast round the fields. It had a knackered piston so I swapped the James for it. I stripped it down, the crank seized so it has been in bits since. It stayed in my dads garage till 30 years ago. Then it went in my loft. I got a D14 engine minus a crank approx. 1980. I have got the engines out of the loft to build them up. Doing a bit of tuning to the D1. Reading all the tuning articles and having a try.Â
I have 6 Triumph's on the road. 2 500's, 2 Tridents bought in the 70's, a 02 RS955 and a 2015 Newchurch Bonneville. The T160 Trident has a 1000 kit. Both are tuned as 1 500 is. I like playing with them. And I do use them.Â
Looking forward to building the D1. The D14 engine will go in later. There are lots of Bantam owners in the area so look forward to meeting up with some. A lot in the TYMC.Â
Ride safe Â

Thank you Cocorico. Good reading by Furguson and Anderzander. What I have done up to now is here. I haven't enlarged the port cut outs but have taken 1/2 of the exhaust S shape out. Matched the barrel and crankcase transfer ports. Â
Will have to look for the pages about the crank clearance at side of flywheels and can I put an Amal 531 (D3) carb on the D1.Â
Hopefully I will get the rolling chassis and engine built by the summer. Find out what bits I am missing.Â
All the best Â

Done the Dalesman and Eskdale a few times but not for a few years. I use to go on the Monday night runs out but that was a good time ago. These were mainly on my Tigers 100's.  I do know a few yesteryear and motor club members. Should get there more often but think my 70's Tridents are a bit modern.  Â
