Hello, my name is Bud, from the good old USofA. I have a 53 D1 that I picked up in England when I was 12 years old, I,m now 63, so I,ve had this machine for quite a long time. It is going to need a lot of work, so I probably will be pestering you for a bunch of info to get this old girl up and running again. I will post a photo of it when I can dig one up.

Cheers!

Welcome Bud, good to have you onboard. That's some timeline, 51 years of ownership. Are you in the UK now or the states?

Cheers

Hi Bud and a very warm welcome. Great story! Well done for persevering. As my dad used to say, " If you keep a thing long enough...." We've got a few members across the pond and you seem to have some decent suppliers over there. In fact sometimes there's more original stuff available in the US than here. You've certainly come to the right place for help and advice. I'm sure we can help you get the old girl up-and-running again. Whereabouts in the States are you?

You will find just about everything you could ever want on the Forum via the FAQs and technical sections;  ** Please log in to view **

Have a good nose around the forum and enjoy yourself. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Good Luck!

All the best,

Hi Bud, welcome. As Stoo says, have a good look round the forum, especially in FAQs. If you hover your mouse over the FORUM icon, there are some useful links under LINKS. You can also find BSA service sheets online ** Please log in to view **.

Hi Bud....keep us posted with your progress...love to see some pics of your machine.

How about the story of what you were doing in England at the age of 12.

Just a guess...parent in the military.

We have a supplier over here under the Name Rex Caunt....very very good....posts worldwide.

Quite a few other suppliers...but not sure if the supply worldwide.

Nick.
