Hi everyone, just joined the forum as I hope to be buying a Bantam in the few days if it looks suitable.

Having past the "official" retirement age but still doing the odd bit of work now and again, I thought I needed something to keep the old brain active instead of watching the box.

I had a Bantam when I was about 15 or 16 but some reason got rid of it for a Francis Barnett, don't ask which model as I don't recall but after that I had a Norton Jubilee 250 twin, I remember it did like leaking oil from the oil pipe on the sump.

Anyway, if and when I get this potential D7 I expect I will be asking simple & stupid questions so please bear with me as I intend to restore to a good standard but not interested in concourse condition.

Already started making space in the garage tip-my-hattip-my-hat

Thanks all for the welcome

Well it's my birthday today, 1st May, and would you believe my sons have only gone and bought me a D10 Bantam!!!

It's one of the milestone birthdays and they said it is their way of saying thanks for getting them involved in bikes & cars (girls come in second place apart from the wife's)

So it seems I need to sort out some more space in the garage and get to grips with making it look good, it is already "road useable" but needs a good refresh all over

So let the fun begin

Dave

How fantastic, Dave. A bantam for your 40th 🙂 Hopefully you'll have great fun with it. Lucky dad 👍

Hello Dave. Refresh is good, many of us prefer to see an old Bantam in it's 'as is' state, warts and all. As long as it runs and is safe, enjoy it for what it is.
