Hi there I am Jamie and have recently fulfilled a life long ambition of acquiring a BSA D1 Rigid frame

The bike was purchased from a work colleague who had owned it for more than ten years but never got around to putting back together but unfortunately the V5 has been lost and I am trying to identify the year of my bike .

Engine number is 25228YD

Frame number is YD125172

Registration number is KAD559

If there is anyone who could help me with this I would be most grateful

Hi Jamie and welcome to the Forum. Lucky you: a rigid! Take good care they're much-cherished 🙂  (and much-coveted)

From those numbers looks like 1950 to me but Tim our Dating Sec will give you all the info you need.

You will find just about everything you could ever want on the Forum via the FAQs and technical sections;  ** Please log in to view **

Have a really good nose around the forum and enjoy yourself. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Good Luck!

All the best,

Welcome Jamie. Hope you get the D1 back to your liking without too many problems. As Stoo says, if you can master the search formula he suggests, you will find pretty much anything you need to  know somewhere on the forum - even some non-Bantam stuff.
