On the Ariel cylindered one, i aim to do the Banbury run, Brackley bike fest, Founders day on the Bantam stand and the Copdock Bantam club stand i hope. Plus any other meets that let you start the bikes up...She needs to be Revved up . Dont you think.smileclap

So. I ring Carol Nash and they say that Ageas Insurance wont insure the two Bantams on a classic policy any more, cuz of too many mods...In the previous years it was,Bsa Bantam 475cc with ariel cylinders. Ok lob us 100 quid for the two, one 475 and one 250cc. This year they want to know a bit more...eek. How do you gently say ,in a calm every day manner, that you have lobbed a couple of these into your Bsa Bantams...First quote £531.double eeeeek. engine.jpg

I can't say I'm that surprised, Roy - they must both be hooligan machines, even if the rider isn't! thinking

And you must be aware that everything insurance-wise these days has to ensure their ongoing profitability...

Over here, I have to have a separate policy for each (standard) machine in the barn, the minimum tptf & judicial cover is over 100€, so with 6 bikes in there, it's a bit painful, to say the least. Can't get rid of any though (yet...)

Yeah. The price we pay for POWER.smile Good news though. After being rang back by a nice chap who could see past the ,shock horror of Bsa Bantam and the engine bottom end from a 90bhp past icon. Saying RG500, they could be seen running for the hills laughlaughHe could see my point of it being actually a tinkle tinkle little Bantam....1960 Ariel Arrow cylinders calms her down some what as does the Scooter cylinders...So all is sweet and i can use both bikes this year. I did know that saying RG500 would put the cat amongst the pigeons, but sense prevailed this time....clap
