Here is the start of Bantaha.

 

Bantam D14 chassis with a Yamaha DT125R engine.

I hope that you already have a V5 for that, because it will be tricky to get one now. Alternatively, if its going to be used off road, it doesn't matter. 

Current bikes......1958 D5,  and a 76 Honda C90 in the workshop.

If it ever gets finished and ends up on a Q plate that will have to do.

I did reuse the original front mount with the chassis number on it, but I know nearly all hope has gone for the original number.

But it has to make it off the work bench as a complete bike first, and that's not going to be in the near future.

Good luck with it, I'm sure it will cause interest when its done. Because you have altered the frame, you wont be able to get a dating certificate for it. You would have to go down the reconstructed classic route in any case, but also be aware that when its done it wont be MOT exempt under the 40 year rule which comes into being a week today.

Current bikes......1958 D5,  and a 76 Honda C90 in the workshop.

u will upset loads as thay dont like to see any thing changed on a bantam but its urs go for i would «censored» the others

If all goes to plan it should have spoked wheels with discs front and rear.

It was just a frame and rear mudguard so bringing it back to any form of life has to be a good thing.

You should end up with about the same performance as a D14/4. Are you going to shroud the rad?

I think restricted they kick out 12hp and de-restricted it should be 20+ with an expansion chamber fitted, plus two extra gears so it should have the legs on a D14/4.

Having said that it could be the slowest thing in the world when done, just have to wait and see.

Why did you choose the DT engine?was it something you had lying about?

IveI always fancied putting a cr500 engine in an aprillia rs125 chassis 🤣🤣🤣 I'm sure it'll be good fun once it's done.

Are you using the DT wheels?So you'll have disc brakes 👍

What's 7/16 in mm again?

DT engine was sat in the shed, air cooled YZ250 would have been number one engine option.

 

Discs front and rear is the plan.
