About 20-25yrs ago I took a photograph of a Bantam which was in for it's MOT at my mot station in Dorking was informed by the garage that it belonged to Princess Margaret's son Lord Linley he had a workshop in Westcott next village . The reg is  UJH 855 just wondered if it is still around and if any of our members might own it. Regards EIRWEN

Maybe Lord Linley still owns it and is at the back of his garage. You never know

Where is D14/4 reg FHF 697G? A chap in Lancashire is trying to find his old bike, and has put an ad on the noticeboard in the BSAOC magazine, asking readers to 'check their sheds'. I'm sure many folk on this forum are not BSAOC members, but maybe a forum member knows where the bike is. Can Jess please check his shed? rofl

The hopeful former owner gives his mobile number and email address in the December 2015 issue of The Star, and is interested in buying his old bike. It is on the DVLA register but not on the road since the early 80s. If anyone can help, I will pm the contact details given in The Star.

I've checked the bike details on the Club's Membership Database, and I'm afraid that the number hasn't popped up. Of course - many of our members haven't submitted the details of all their Bantams, so this isn't a definitive 'no.'

Hi,

I'm looking to see if anyone is still riding my old 1953 D1 Bantam registration WFX348. I owned it from 1983-84. It's the bike I learned to ride on, and the one I passed my test on. Many an hour spent in the garage stripping and rebuilding the engine, though for the life of me I can't recall why. I bought it from a guy in Kent, who had restored it. I sold it in Brookwood, Surrey, when I bought its replacement, a 1967 Norton Atlas.

Thanks for reading,

Ian

Going by the registration she was first registered at Dorchester Dorset, they probably still have record of her at Dorset county records office.

I've been contacted by a previous owner of this Bantam, who's trying to get in contact with the bloke he sold it to a few years ago. It may well have passed on again since then. But if you've got it - then I may be able to provide 'some information etc to your advantage.'

I've checked the Club's database - but this VRN isn't registered with a current Club member (although I know our records aren't complete).

If you've got the bike - then please PM or e-mail me with a picture of it showing the VRN/model/colour and any other confirmatory details that you might have (like maybe a picture of the Log Book etc) and I will put you in touch with this fella.

Afternoon everyone,

I am attempting to locate the Bantam D14/4 which was owned by my late father in the late 60s.

The registration number is OOW 32 G,and it was purchased from Alec Bennett Ltd.,in Southampton.

upon delivery it was Black in colour, although according to DVLA records it is now Red.

Any help locating this machine would be gratefully received.

Regards,Dave.

I'm about to take ownership of EUG 46F a '68 14/4 - does anyone know anything about it from before 1984, when it was "first registered" according to the DVLA?

I know exactly when the frame and engine were made/left the factory in 68 but nothing else until 1984.

Hi, I'm trying to track down a 1965 Bantam D7 Super/Deluxe I owned from around 1988 until 1997 or so. It's registration was CHU158C although I never had a v5 or had it registered for road use, so I suspect it is probably on an age related plate now. I recall that either the frame or engine number was D745455. It was highly original and still carried its factory red paint with white pin striping and the original dealers decal on the front mudguard (Williers of Bristol iirc).

I sold it to a chap by the name of Harvey Milnes who I believe repainted it. I'd love to know if it's still around.

Thanks,

Matt.
