Here's Beattie on the back of a truck, after our saturday crankshaft snapping jaunt...

The great thing is, two days later and on a bank holiday, I am corresponding with folks that are going to help fix it! Hoorah for RCR!

Maybe take the plunge and upgrade to the CDI ignition & alternator kit as well...

cheers for now,

Simon.

How lovely!  Does he still ride?  I bet he feels really great sitting on the bike he first rode 63 years ago and in such lovely condition!

Here is my bike, just after I restored it for the first time in the 80s. Note that I hadn't as yet painted the panel on the tank, and the temporary seat cover was replaced with a new dual seat. That grey was hand painted.

Nice collection Chappiness - you can never have too many!

my eye is drawn straight to the B25 everytime, love the looks. I will get one eventually.

In the meantime I've been out playing with the camera and I'm pleased with this......

My C15 SS80 as bought

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo309/tsunami-03/IMG_2702.jpg~original

and after a seat cover and a bit of a clean up

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo309/tsunami-03/IMG_4756.jpg~original

I have been very lucky with these bikes. The D10 sport was bought on E-bay for £350 3years ago. The D14 sport and D14 were part of a job lot of 3 dismantled Bantams bought for £350 around the same time and the C15SS80 came to me by a friend ringing me to tell me that someone he knew was pulling down a shed and wanted rid of "an old green Bantam". when I saw it I told the seller it was a C15 , he just wanted it out of the way. He wanted £100 for it. I told him it was worth more. He said "I just want it away today, as i took it in exchange for some work years ago, and the shed is coming down today". I took it there and then. I had it running after freeing off a stuck valve 2 weeks later.
