As a newish member, (Aug 2019), I'd just bought my first classic bike, a non-running 1966 D7, as a project bike. Since joining the club I've read many times on the forum that once you have the bug you won't stop at just one bike.

Well, the D7 has been dismantled and the rebuild is in progress with the frame powder coated, swing arm refitted with new bushes and assembled, new rear shocks fitted and the front forks in the process of being rebuilt. Then, I saw a 1965 D7 for sale in a nearby bike shop so I thought I'd drop by and have a look. The bike was in good condition and before I knew it I found myself making an offer, which was accepted and then I had two!!! I told my wife that its good to have one as a project to work on, (and keep me out the pub), and also one that I can ride now that will also be a  template bike to reference for the rebuild and she begrudgingly accepted my lame excuses. So now, I suppose, I have the start of a collection. Who knows where it will go from here!

I'm now looking forward to a few ride outs in 2020!

How did your Bantam collection start?

Here's a pic of my new ride.

Male logic also bought my first Bantam. My dad used me (then aged eight) as an excuse to buy a rigid D1 that took his fancy. I still have it. Have had, probably, about a dozen other Bantams since, as well as many different makes and models of all sizes. I currently only have one other Bantam, a s/a D3, and a CBR500R Honda. According to my wife, it’s three more than I actually need. 🤣

Hi there,

Cracking looking D7 you have there. I got my 2nd Bantam in July, a 66 D7 and am really enjoying it, looking forward to the better weather and salt free roads.

Had motorcycles all my life, big and small. Will deffinatley purchase more bikes in the future, but for the time being I am happy with my ride and restore Bantams.

Good luck with your other D7, keep us all up dated with your exploits, along with photo's if possible.

Nick.
