I have lashed out 310 GBP on a Lexmoto VENOM {CHEEK}..210 km on clock ;son of owner not interested..All I can say is it handles and stops as well as any lightweight I have ever ridden looks sharp and was put together by an incompetent dealer..these little bikes {having all mod cons} are growing on me.How one could turn ones nose up as a 17 yr old...I started on a ropey C50 which was bliss ..independence ....

Sounds like an absolute steal! You have to ask how they can make things so cheap over there though. They must have LITERAL gulags making these things.Although I'm guessing people over there have a different idea of what a good standard of living is as our biggest issue is obesity and diabetes!

What's 7/16 in mm again?

scale is the key the numbers are mind boggling. There are 5M motorcycles in Hanoi alone supplied mainly from RoC.

I think that's the biggest problem the Chinese need to sort out if they want their products accepted for their quality rather than cheapness. - and don't waste your money buying stuff your kids don't really want!

The bike was bought so the son could get to work without the Parental Taxi.No buses no workplace parking often no home parking the two wheeler is not a toy in rural areas. If it were me I would make him walk .Some Chinese maker is going to break ranks soon and go racing ,perhaps in India ,whose makers are building brands both co-op and independent.Shineray Honda's partner is a good example though of how applying QA and QC properly can transform a brand.

In 2005 I bought a brand new Hongdou Honda CG125 clone. Cost me £600 delivered to my door in a crate. It was great value for money, but was really just a complete motorcycle made of “pattern parts” quality bits. It was really expensive to insure too.

Taken grinder to exhaust port upped the jetting .Ticks over like its illustrious namesake now the mute has gone too....sounds pretty much the same too.PS it is a Senke .as my Sinnis is a Jianshe. Now the assembly solecisms and the effects of damp inactivity are overcome, cannot help but be happy.83 gbp ins.

I removed the 15mm dia plug and 400mm long section of inner pipe from the exhaust on my Chinese bike too. Made it sound a little mellower, and it went a little better at the top end. Over the three years or so I used it I slowly changed lots of things for good used/nos genuine Honda CG125/CB125 bits. Seat foam was really soft, and you ended up sat on the base after a short while, so I swapped the seat pretty quickly. My insurance was about £200 as a 35 year old using it to commute, which was pretty horrendous I thought, but the best I could find. As the first year drew to an end I bought a 1980s Honda CG125 frame and V5 for £30 on eBay, blasted it at work and painted it up nicely, then swapped everything over. Insuring it then as a CG was £65. I sold the Chinese frame and V5 on to a youngster who’d ridden his one into a wall and bent it.

It was a good bike for an A-road commute. I used to do 16 miles each way on mine and it was fine for that. When my commute changed to 38 miles each way on the motorway though, I sold it on and bought something bigger.

The Chinese stuff needs a lot more looking after then the Jap stuff, however I think there quality and reliability are coming on. They're starting to make their own stuff, rather than rip of the Jap market, and they're making some nice looking stuff (although I'm not a fan)

I can see the Chinese doing to the Japs, what the Japs did to the English bikes. IMO its time now for the Japs to up their game, the finish on some of the frame's just aren't up to much, and the price's are getting quite high, local Kawasaki dealer charging around £4500 for a 125, to me that's silly money.

Kwackers have never had frames with paint that stayed on longer the a month. The price of new rather bland bikes not all even truly Japanese is why the classic market is so strong .
