I have a BD1 1950 bantam black paint ,chrome rims , chrome strip on the tank , mud guards, . The spokes are black as well . I have found that these bikes were special order only from 1950 -1953 and not much else.
are there people out there who would know more or maybe have one?.

hoping to hear from you

Hi Howard.
I have no idea but my best suggestion would be to give the frame number to the dating officer. He holds the factory records and would hopefully have information on the dispatch details.

I have the shipping records it only shows that this bike was shipped  nov 16 1949 to a dealer in Vancouver B.C Canada . This one has matching numbers engine and frame with the record of shipping . In that shipment there were 3 bantams shipped to Trive Deely Canada and one to Fred Deely Vancouver  in 1949 and one in 1950. There is no mention of D1 or BD1. I did the restoration and have pictures that show the bike was black and chrome from the factory. A few years back I posted pic with help on the introduction page.

Hi sunny

I sent an email to them so we will see. I also will check the serial numbers to see if any of the bikes that were shipped in the same time have black and chrome .It  will be interesting to see if any of them are still registered or running.

Well my search for information about the BD1 seems to have stalled for now . I find a few small notes here and there with one picture on the internet of a BD1 at a show in the US . There is a reference on the Wikipedia web site describing the model and years it was produced. I just can not believe I have the only one so there must be more out there somewhere
