Only on this website and all of a sudden and out of the blue I have got a panel on the bottom right corner that says 'privacy settings' it will not go away and it is impossible to shift it. Needless to say I didn't ask for it and don't want it ....it has something to do with google and when I click on it I het dozens of pages of complete time wasting drivel that is imposible to get rid of .
Is anybody else getting this rubbish and if so does anybody know what it is and how to get rid of it ??
Has something changed on this website ?

Hi Les, I think you mean that little blue circle-arrow thing bottom right. It shouldn't affect your use of the site, i don't think. Just don't click on it. It's to do with the new, upgraded security measures that have been installed to ward off the hundreds of daily cyber attacks that the site has been receiving recently. So, in order to stop the scores of daily bogus new user accounts, the new user registration page has that annoying little doo-hickey that makes you type the illegible jumble of letters/numbers. This stops the hackers creating multiple accounts automatically and only "humans" can gain access. So, my advice is just to ignore it and I'll try to find a way to remove the icon but that's probably easier said than done as firms love to have their logo everywhere
All the best,
Stewart

Hi Stewart,Â
Thanks for responding and yes it is the little blue circley arrowy thing in the bottom right corner. If I hover the cursor over it everything starts to wobble and sort of vibrate.  Unfortunately it came up on my mobile phone first and when I clicked on it.... it took me into a world of Google rubbish and timewasting pain. I have now locked down my google account to base zero in an attempt to get rid of teh blue circle of doom and things are no longer the same on my mobile phone any more. Thankfully the desktop computer still works.Â
At least I now know what it is......Â

EDIT: unfortunately lots of sites have to do this sort of thing now.
-
EDIT 2: on my PC screen it's in the righthand white margin so doesn't interfere with any topics text. Haven't tried it on the phone yet! Don't get any wibbly wobblies if I mouse over / click on it.
Using latest updated Windows 10 and latest Firefox.
