Eee, RAF Cosford. I remember seeing TSR2 there, plus a Lightning taking off straight into an 80 degree climb, and a Buccaneer flypast at ground level. No wonder I'm a bit deaf! (as well as old).

Aaaah, the Buccaneer. Beautiful aircraft. And also renowned for numerous indoor athletics meets to fill rainy Saturdays on the telly

I worked on Lightnings for 6 years at RAF Binbrook in Lincolnshire.  Sara's father was a pilot on buccaneers at the pointy end of our nuclear deterrent in Germany in the 70's .

I think they even have a Saunders roe sr53 there which was a duel fuel rocket/jet powered prototype.

Wotcha.

Made it there - made it back.

Below you can see a streamlined, fast, futuristic, dynamic machine . . . . . . . and behind it is an aeroplane. laugh

Great video, LW!

Good to see you at the AGM - pity we didn't get the chance for a natter and catch-up before you had to leave. Thanks for feeding in that snippit about the 'BSA' lettering disappearing from the wall of the Armoury Road factory.  I guess there's next-to-nothing left to see, now.
