Weird thing has started happening with the New / Updated Topics list, I select one to load and read, get the list up again, the read item still remains but is greyed out. As time goes on, a load of grey ones are still left behind, and nothing is removed. It's been doing this for a few days now. Never used to happen. I'm concerned that the list will just get longer and be difficult to scroll, and I have to keep scrolling it every time!

I've logged out and logged in again, no difference. I've logged out, deleted the site cookies and logged in again, no difference. I'm using latest updated Windows 10 with latest updated Firefox, fairly new Dell notebook, Intel CPU, 64-bit OS etc. etc...

Example below - note some are leftover from my previous visit(s)!

Appendix: if I got to "Forum" and "tick all topics as read", no difference! http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/imagex/misc/ohmy.gif

Yes, Mike, that's a bit of a pain. I'd noticed a glitch in the admin refresh as well but that seems to have resolved itself - thankfully 🙂 So I'll look further into this anomaly. I presume that it's happening across the board.

However, the updated list of new topics at the bottom of the main menu still seems to be functioning properly.

I use the 'unread posts' icon. I've always found it quicker.

Much quicker. I never use that updated dropdown menu but obviously some do.

I guess there are many parts of the forum people don't use, or don't bother to look at (with just a hint of sarcasm...). I don't expect it's worth the expense of a major overhaul of the site considering it is a low budget site compared to some others. It's a bit like it's subject - you need to know a fair bit to get the best out of it.

Indeed, Keith, many posts have a vague(sometimes misleading) title and need to be edited and put in the right category, so that other users can find the relevant info when searching. Then of curse there is so much repetition....

Thanks maybe I should do the same! It's what I normally would do on any other forum, this one still looks quite odd to me in terms of how it works so still not used to it yet.

Just FYI, the read items in that least seem to disappear after 2 or 3 days.

And.... I've just logged in using my phone and the new/updated topics menu has cleared itself on the mobile version. Curiouser and curiouser.....

It seems to have resolved itself on my laptop for the moment. And the phone works fine.... There doesn't appear to be a setting control for it in the admin suite - will have to delve further. In the meantime, Dave, use the "unread posts" button down and right from the offending drop down menu and I'll get it sorted asap 🙂
