Beautiful bike though Howie !

You've followed the instructions for uploading a picture to your post - perhaps you could pop that picture in the 'Our Bikes' thread in the general forum.

Have a look at the 'how to' guide for the avatar - there is a short video in the first post that will tell you what to do.

Let me know if you get stuck.

Howie use the resize site to drop the size down - its bang on 1mb rather than under it, but more to the point - its big in pixel size.

Pop in a width of 140 on the resize site and it will proportionally scale the height if you leave it blank, then try again.

p.s I was rather keen on the pic I set up that you just removed !out-a-here

Whoops , I was trying to be clever.  I thought "I know I'll take some snaps today and put a better picture on"...so confident was I that I had no hesitation about removing the other one.  Never mind, I'll have a bash at re-sizing!

Thanks

howie try resizing your photo by cropping it

1open windows flag left bottom corner on your computer and select pictures

2 select your file picture of your bike double click the picture you want to size

3 that takes you to windows photo gallery.on the tool bar is the word fix click that and a box appears on the right select crop

4 now a frame appears round your picture and  tiny white boxes put your cursor on the boxes and move your mouse

and that side of the frame moves repeat all four side when your happy with the framed picture click on apply( it will also tell you picture size eg 1.43mb when cropped it tells the new size 457 kb so then its under the 1mb and it will up load)

5 now just go to the blue circle with the square in it press that to save the cropped picture.

thats it done easy it is and i,m a complete balloon head it sounds long winded but i can do it in about 1 minute .

i take all my pictures further away now for this site . load them on computer then crop them

job done.

no.w you know how i,ve been doing it anderz cant-look

Thanks yeh sorted.  I'm on a Mac but have now managed to resize hence the new profile pic!  Like everything it's easy and quick once you've messed about a bit...which I now have!  Main thing is I had my first ride on her today albeit round the village with no real issues.  Had a moment of revving like hell so I had to switch her off...throttle cable or sticking float?  Investigation tomorrow!!

Also losing gearbox oil which appears just to be the washer on the drainage plug , or lack of it as I can see some sort of "gunk" around it.  Other than that though I think £750 well spent really...no doubt time will tell, MOT this week!

Thank you though that's how I got her last week.  I don't think it was an original colour and up close it's a bit haggered so I may well respray her after I've got the niggly little problems sorted out.  It's my only transport so it's never gonna look immaculate if I want to keep riding her....which I do!  I love the old phone box in shot by the way!

Anders,

I've been sent an HD film of yours truly and Cornish Rooster hooning it on our D1s over Dartmoor (yes, really, wait 'til you've seen the film!) but the size is huge - 830Mb - and there's no way to get that from here onto PBucket this side of Xmas. Any ideas?

Youtube is the answer Rick.

How long is the clip ? I think until you've had an account with them for a while you are limited to 15 minutes. Once uploaded you can set it to be private if you only wanted it seen where you post the link.

I'm happy to help out. You could even post it to me on a cd if you don't fancy doing it yourself.

thanks Stephen - the problem is that it has music on it too, and am I right in thinking Youtube will not allow that if it hasn't been officially used and paid for ....and it hasn't. And I don't do Youtube anyway nor much else with photos except the photobucket method here and nothing at all with film.

It's a mere 4 or 5 minutes long but in HD. If you don't mind I'll send up a data pen with it on - I think a CD is too small (or can I compress it?) at 700Mb. Can you PM your address to me?

It would be good to put up on the Forum as my mate Paul, who is the cameraman, has a talent for this and he's literally just started.

Rick,

I'll pm you my address. They do allow music in most instances now - what they do is put an advert next the video for people to buy the song. I've quite a few like that - the only exception is if the music company have specifically excluded the music being reproduced in this country.

Worth a go any way thumbs-up

Stephen

p.s. it'd easily fit on a dvd disc

My band has a fair amount of music on youtube, some of them are covers so I think I'm right in saying that if you put something like "I do not own the copyright to this track" you get away with it.  OR put something ancient on as the music, different countrys have different copyright law.  I think ours is 75 years but you may want to check that!

We have resource limits ... and to be fair to everyone a limit was set ... it takes a minuet to or less to resize ...  if you cannot be bothered then that is up to you ... Use 'Photobucket' or similar
