Hi. I have recently joined this nice little forum. Every time I click on something it takes about 30 seconds or longer to open the next page. I am a member of several forums and all the others are almost instant. My computer is modern and powerful, so am I doing something wrong. Regards Colin.

This is a slow site sadly, it is the slowest of all the sites I use, but its always been like that. As Graham has said above, its rather like the Bantam, slow and steady

30 seconds is a little longer than normal though, I would say it takes around 10 seconds to load a page

Current bikes......1958 D5, a 77 Suzuki GT250 and a 77 Honda CB125S. I have a B175 in the workshop and a 76 Honda C90 waiting its turn. A 1980 Honda CB400N waiting for MOT.  Everyday ride is a 2011 Harley Davidson Sportster.

I have learned to live with it, but would be interested to know why it is so slow. Is it the server?

For me it takes about 10secs to access the site, then speeds up once I`m in,but that`s nothing compared to some elements of ebay and banking which really are slow.

Normal for the megs I get here on the edge of the Lincs Wolds(when my Internet/landline actually is working),using a £60 2nd-hand desktop purchased 6yrs ago, still running on Vista and in need of more memory, through 5 miles of old crumbling copper cable run along telegraph poles with many little connection boxes and then in the ground via two junction boxes to a piddling Exchange badly maintained.Don`t get me started on my provider,or Open Leach.Someone with a great British sense of humour burned an effigy of their van at last year`s bonfire night.I`m going for an effigy of that CEO,sitting in her gilded ChatChat cage down The Smoke, while her organisation fails thousands of users miserably! Grrrrh

Loads of irrelevant guff doesn’t help.old

As far as I'm aware, the forum's speed is limited by the deal with the isp. It's not free and to increase capacity / speed would increase costs, then maybe membership fees, etc.

For non club members, it's all free, of course.

1956 D3 running, lights to sort. 7 other bikes in the Barn, 6 runners (when I get time!) and a still in progress Morini 250
