Its still a big picture Alan - I may have missed a bit out - if you go back in to the resize function again and then click 'apply' just to the right hand side - and then save it.

Hello Anderzander,

I managed to put a 80 x 80 photo up I had stored in "Pictures" on my computer but I do not seem able to delete it to put another 140 x 117 photo in its place.

I have deleted the existing one on my Profile and added the new one via Ctrl+V in the middle box but each time the old 80 x 80 photo re-appears.

I have sent the new one to my own email but cannot get it into "Pictures" like I did originally with the 80 x 80 photo.

Perhaps you can advise?

Regards,

Sorry to ask what is perhaps the obvious?

Are you copying the actual photo into the middle box - or an address (eg photobucket) for where it is hosted ?

Arron,

Are you you trying to use the uploader that I mentioned in my first post ? (copied below)  If so I think there is an issue with it so we have all been using remotely hosted avatars.

If you do mean that you have an avatar already hosted on the net - if you post up a link I will have a look for you.

Happy to help how ever I can - just let me know!

Stephen

As sent to the membership via pm:

Hello everyone !

We now have avatars. I've had a little difficulty getting the forum to upload an image to use - it seems no matter how small a file I select it thinks its too large...

However I have set it up to use a remote one. If you remember my post on using ** Please log in to view **  you can host your picture and edit it to the right size there.

Please make sure the photo is no wider than 140 pixels - any wider and it will throw out the text as it appears to the right of it. Also try to make the file size small if possible to help with the forum's bandwidth.

(In the PM I said 150 pixels wide - but 140 works better)

If anyone needs any help setting one up - please let me know.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's moniker !

Stephen

Very strange!  I hope I haven't flicked anything by accident. I removed the upload feature that wasn't working properly.

Hello again Anderzander,

The address I copied on Photobucket was the one beginning with [IMG]http://i1114 etc. and added it to the relevant box on our site using Ctrl+V.

Hello Bart,

I have no teenage daughters but two at 36/41 plus husbands who all think they are computer wizards. I may have to ask them in the end but I would like to do it myself if I can.

Jubilee

Post the address in that has no [IMG at the beginning - the one that reads just like a direct link / web address.

Hello Anderzander,

As you can see, the D1 has gone but there is something wrong at the Photobucket end which needs sorting. I will keep trying.

Thanks,

I looked back through your old posts (something I couldn't have done on the old forum!) until I found a post where you'd posted a picture. Then used that to find your photobucket account - viewed your most recent picture and took the correct address and put it in your profile.

Hope that's OK for you laugh
