Here is the how to video for how to give yourself a profile picture....

<------------- Like this one.

You need to be a bit patient whilst it resizes .... but start by clicking your 'profile' button (shown in the video below), which will take you to the screen this video starts on.

If the video is too small to see - you can click in the bottom right corner of the video to make it go to full screen.

If the picture you want to use is more than 1mb in size you will need to resize it. Details on how to do that are ** Please log in to view **

It also seems that even if its under 1mb it will struggle to resize if your picture is very large (pixels) - ** Please log in to view **

You can also use a photo hosted elsewhere on the net -  if you find my posts on using ** Please log in to view **  you can host your picture and edit it to the right size there.

Please make sure the photo is no wider than 140 pixels - any wider and it will throw out the text as it appears to the right of it. Also try to make the file size small if possible to help with the forum's bandwidth.

If anyone needs any help setting one up - please let me know.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's moniker !

Phil,

I think I can!  but can you reduce the width to 140 ?  You've reduced the height to 140, but the width i 187.

Lovely bike by the way!

Phil - not sure if you're struggling to resize your image, so I've copied it to my photobucket account, resized it and hosted it for you laugh

I can do it for you - or copy the image address, click on the profile button in the top right, click on the 'edit avatar', paste the image address into the box below 'select remote avatar' and then click 'save remote avatar'.

Let me know if that's not clear!

Alan,
Get a Mac Book everything is easy and no windows updates either, but seriously your D1 looks much like mine, and you should try and get yourself to one of our runs another hopefully coming soon !

Alan,

Go to your image in photobucket, hover your mouse over it and a little grey menu should appear at the top of it saying 'File Edit Share etc'

Click edit and it should take you to a new page, where it shows your picture and big row of things to click above it. Click 'Resize'

Where the two boxes are - overtype the numbers in the first box with '140' (a little box on the right should be ticked that says 'keep proportions')  Then click either 'Replace Original' or 'Save a Copy' at the bottom.

That's it resized - the next thing is to copy the 'direct link' to the image. Come back here and paste that into a new post and I'll use  it to put up your avatar.

Let me know if you have any problems. Happy to help.
