Mrs Bee at my local corner shop in Little Bytham didn`t have one of those petroil dispensers, even thirty years later, only the one squirt or two contraption she wheeled out from her little shop to her petrol pump, that nestled in a walled recess adjacent to the public footpath, opposite the Flying Scotsman pub.Sometimes I`d only call in for 1/2 gal in my Bantam, but she was always courteous and polite, bless the old gal.

I`m guessing that kit never caught on,probably contaminated by an ingress of water thanks to Blighty`s inclement weather, haha.

They should have done a commercial featuring antifreeze ratios too.My Dad thought that parking his Flying Squirrel in a barn during one fierce winter in the 1940s would save him from draining down the coolant(namely water),but next morning, one bust cylinder block.....

Was that Charles Hawtrey of 'Carry On' fame?

Four now on the road and at least several in bits.

Yes, and despite the description, I think the date was more likely to have been the early '50's rather than the '40's.
