Hi Mark,

I'll be there with the missus in tow on the Saturday. Never miss it and I think the good lady is after getting a photo with Jamie Witham to go with last years Steve Plater and John Renolds. I'll be easy to find, I'll be the cold wet person.

Cheers Colin

FB Falcon 87 needs wiring to finish. Ariel Arrow on the back burner, MZ125 running, Royal Enfield Classic love it, Velo LE waiting for spares, Simson Schwalbe now 12v and running.

If anyone wants to meet up on Saturday how about 1pm at the cafe bit in the Lady Eastwood Pavillion (I think thats what its called, the coffee coloured building by the Band Stand in the corner). Not sure how to recognise each other, but I guess owning Bantams there'll be giveaway twitches, ticks, or a general demeanor of mild madness.

Cheers Col

Not again. Can't take you anywhere. For gods sake man forget the carnation and paper and start wearing clothes! You'll need them on Newark Showground at this time of year. The place is fair nithering even in Summer.

I'll be carrying a square(?!) Fieldsheer bag circa 1985, and carrying a copy of the Banter, plus I'll have in tow a red haired short *censored* women who will be mostly hobbling!

Cheers Col

That about sums it up, sky high prices for some of the incomplete bikes on a couple of stalls, some tasty classics, but for me the `must take home` was the Vespa SS90.   Superb.....

PS Lone Wolf jumped the queue for coffee, not sure if he got cake ?

Was that you sat on the next table outside the "cafe" ? . . .three of you . . . .and you were the one with the "wide white beard" ?

ps. no cake - but I did eat my toast and Marmite with my cuppa. . . .anyway, it wasn't really jumping the queue - whilst other folks were waiting for food, we were served with drinks before the diners got their food.

Yes it was me, as i was walking away i spotted a `moonshiners` cap and guessed it was you,  I know you didn`t jump the queue really, there was a wait for chips and a big gap in front,  i would have done the same,    what about that `steam punk` scooter !

also met travelling man on the way out,  hi again..

Wotcha.

I wasn't sure if it was you.  I looked and thought "I know that face from somewhere . . .was it a photograph in the Banter . . .or maybe on the forum"  I should really have come over and asked - the worse that could happen was someone saying "Not me". . . ah well, next time eh ?

I was rather taken with that scooter, but then I've always had a passion for very odd machines. . . . as my old BSA M21 outfit shows.

Hi there bart. Good to see you again. Always seems to be around motor bikes.... well its bound to be isnt it.!!.......Well then i expected to see Colin and Lone Wolf but didnt see either. But met up with chaps i didnt expect to see. So the trip was worth while. As bart said the prices were stupid. I have taken to making an offer for stuff i want and today it worked. Got what i wanted and didnt pay too much. Next show......Shepton Mallet.....more silly prices i expect.........Mark.

Must admit I was disappointed with the show, too few bikes and too much autojumble for me - just my opinion

Have to say I enjoyed it... always seemed to be at the wrong point at the wrong time, bit thrown by the Lady Eastwood cafe being a building site as well. But I bumped into 3 people I hadn't seen since the late 70's, early 80's so all good. Few less bikes on show and a lot less people on the Saturday than previous years which was odd as the weather is the best its been for several years. So sorry I missed people but I was getting waylaid and side-tracked by loads of others!

Cheers Col

Hmm - 110 miles from here.

Last time I did this one was back in 2009 ( pre-accident ) and I took the work's van ("free" fuel ).   I just might think about doing this one seeing as I managed to walk about for the Newark show.
