My advice would be to turn yourselves in to the nearest hospital ASAP and ask for a padded room.rofl

I would plan to only do around 100 miles a day, enjoy the leisurely run and book premier inn rooms at £29 a room in advance all the way down. I did a similar thing round Ireland once and had a great road trip. Whatever you do,enjoy your trip. Why not get sponsored by people and give it to your fave charity. Folk would prob sponsor you on a bantam.....maybe not so much on a modern bike . Best wishes, keep us posted if you do it. Kind regards, michael

Its been done 3 times on Bantams. Im sure if you Googled it you'rd find the information you want . There was a write up in Real Classic a few years back ,

Ive done it three times each time unsupported. Once in the winter which was not fun, once in spring and the final time in the Autum. The summer months can be hectic with traffic and if your using hotels etc can be difficult room wise unless prebooked.

Its not the challenge it once was but still a "bucket list" thing and always worth a sponsorship tug !

Got to admit, half of me wants to come with you, so by my own recommendation i'd be bouncing round the padded room too! And if i chickened out (pun not intended) then i'd sponsor you too.

I'll meet you for an ice cream if you make it to Lands End, actually there's a pub quite nearby called the Turk's Head (Penzance) that does a nice pint of Stella...

Thanks all for the replies/advice.  Looking forward to the trip-probably should get a padded cell. I have cycled it twice before - I thought doing it on my Bantam would be easier.....not so sure about it now !

We will take plenty of spares, as for the accommodation- we will book B&B's where we can. We have roped a mate into driving a support vehicle with a bolt on awning when necessary.

We are hoping to raise some money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation charity.

Cheers [on a wing and a prayer]
