Hi all,

I'm hoping to take the club to some local events, for one of the events, I have been asked how big the stand may need to be. As this is the first time I have ever done this, does anyone know what a good size club stand may be?

The Bantam club gazebo’s are about 4 metres square, or the one we used to have in Kent was

Current bikes......1958 D5, a 77 Suzuki GT250 and a B175 almost ready for the road and a 76 Honda C90 in the workshop. A 1980 Honda CB400N now on the road and my everyday ride is a 2011 Harley Davidson Sportster. All bikes (except the D5) are now for sale...

Hello BSA Bill:

The standard Club gazebos are 3m x 3m square, with detachable sides. There are cockerell motifs and club titles on two sides of each gazebo. We have 3 patterns: the basic Club gazebo (green & white); the Bantam Racing gazebo (with a chequered flag roof panel); and the GPO Bantam gazebo (Post Office Red & white). A Club stand needs to be at least 3m deep, in order to line up bikes for display. As a comparator: the space we get allocated at Stafford for our Club stand is pretty much the minimum size - we get a frontage of 6m and a depth of 3m. That allows for 6 bikes and we usually put 2 x gazebos alongside each other. Therefore: for your first ventures I would suggest that you ask organisers for a minimum of 8m wide x 4 m deep; and plan for about 8 bikes.

The Club can provide robust 3m x 3m gazebos that are good for outside displays, and can withstand high winds (very topical!). We also have our big white frame tent, 8m x 4m, with the Club motif printed on the roof. This is also good for outdoors, and for coping with bad weather. It has full side sections and panels with windows. Great for both indoors and outdoors - but bulky to move and it needs about 4 people to put up/take down.

For indoor shows: as well as the above gazebos we have a new 4.5m x 3m gazebo. And we have 4 x pop-up displays of period pictures/posters, to complete a display. Also flags and banners. You might recall seeing this gear when you spent the day at the Classic Motor Show at the NEC back in November. This gear is all available to Area Reps are often gets moved around before/after events.

You should contact Club Events Officer Mike Kilvert to get any tips on detailed arrangements, and to earmark gazebos etc for your events. Hope this helps!

Hi Bryan,

That's fantastic help, cheers! I'll let the organisers of these shows know, then hopefully post the events on here in the next couple of weeks for people to sign up to. 🙂
