No Wolfie

I do it of my own bat.

I did it for two main reasons

1:- Because I thought it would be something I could give back to people who run Bantam, bearing in mind I have a Bantam spares business, club members as well as non members.

2:- The members dipped out on an annual rally, Rick tried to organise something but I understand unfortunatly it was washed out due to the weather. I thought it would be nice to try and organise something so people from all over the country could have a get together outside the formal type of show enviroment.

Putting faces to names is great, and it gave us all a focal point to meet up. Hopefully next year I can make it even more entertaining and interesting.

Nice little article and a photo of the Ace gathering in the December issue of Classic Bike Guide.

Good couple of pictures supplied by our own Rick Howell, thanks Rick.

Shame the reporter credited the club for organising it when in fact members were told that it was not an official club meeting and not one of the officials turned up.

Hi Howard - I haven't seen the piece in CBG but if it is the one I sent to Real Classic (they share stuff being all part of Mortons) you were very definitely credited with the idea and execution of the Bantams at the Ace day. It would be an injustice if it has been altered, but perhaps it is someone else's report.

I thought this may have happened, you are credited with the pics but the words are by CBG's Cub reporter, apart from a small quote from you.

Nice piece though well done on getting it in.

That's a shame - the photos should be credited to either yourself or Gary (Lone Wolf).

Maybe it's a bit like chinese whispers - as it goes from office to office the actual info gets altered. Ironically, CBG is the one magazine I never buy (used to, before Frank Westworth got chucked out, now Real Classic is part of Mortons too. MTP).

Hi Rick

They lumped the award from the show in the same article so my guess is it was easier to do one single article, either way it can only be good for the promotion of the Bantam as a whole that is how I see it.

Coincidently I took out a 1/4 page add with them in the same edition, so in the lomg run should work out ok for me. clap

Howard - that's a good result.

Incidentally did you get that PowerDynamo generator kit? If so, how is it? Any good?

Yes I fitted one on a D7, it makes the starting very easy and it has lights that work.

I bought a few of them once I knew they easy to fit and worked fine, I had to get the bike built then registered first, big mistake was using an engine I inherited with a lot of other bantam parts, I wanted to prove the unit worked fine as quickly as possible. It has started to kick out a lot of smoke and run very rough so I am sure the seals are shot.

I really want to finish the rebuild of the original engine for the Trail Bronk, I can then use the current engine in the Bronk in the D7 but too many other things on my plate at the moment so it will have to wait untill I get the time.

I have just got hold of a plunger frame which turns out is from one of the last PO bikes registered in September 1965, unfortunatly it came with no documents, I am currently trying to get hold of some documents from the PO vehicle owners club to verify it's original number.
