Unexpected family visit meant that bantam number 1 didn't get started up until after 4 pm. Found some loose bits and pieces, a wiring connector that ALWAYS comes unconnected was taped up, hope it holds tomorrow, it's the brake light. Exhaust fishtail loose, that sounded interesting! Then the beepin' thing fell off its sidestand and hit a wall. Headlight glass thankfully only scratched but rim bent. Had to take it off and hammer it back into shape. So what with the little brats visiting, and then the headlight episode, ran out of time to organise my tools for the toolbox. Have only got a dribble of two stroke oil but I have at least half a tank of fuel, so should be ok.

Hope you all managed OK without me!

Sorry you couldn't make it, all us locals got there to a very busy Loomis, 5 Bantams and a  125 Yamaha. I'm hoping a picture will be posted later to prove it. Perhaps we'll meet up another time.

Lovely trip! No mishaps but a certain element of excitement! The forum can't cope with uploading images from my iPad so I'll get the photo up from my work PC tomorrow.

I've got a few pics here:

WP_20160313_11_36_12_Pro.jpg

That's my D5 #1 on the left, a B175 on the right I believe?

WP_20160313_11_36_33_Pro.jpg

Skid's red D7 looking good, Grumblejay's D3 project on its first proper outing, and Pootle's fabulous black D3.

All five bantams plus an honorary bantam.

Skid's D7 again, very nicely painted.

There was some interest in the strange old machinery, especially from a police motorcyclist who was hanging out at the cafe. There's free wifi so we picked up the message from Velton- no worries, maybe another time.

Great pics Dookie. That was a fun run out on good spring day and really nice meeting up with everyone.

Was it you who informed the officer that you had no MOT (or tax either)? Made me laugh and I think he did hestitate - momentarily.tip-my-hat

I think he said he hoped I had no tax either! confused

That was just before he offered to swap bikes and gave me his keys? We were talking about the difficulties of having short legs and the irony of Japanese bikes not generally being designed for small people.

Walking the dog later, met a small lady getting on a 2014 Triumph in the village square, and she let me sit on it. So I think I might have found my new big bike. thumbs-up

Well done for getting the pics up Dookie! Grumblejay and I failed. It was great to meet up and give everyone else something different to look at.

All your bikes are shinier than mine.

Please let me know if any further such get-togethers and I will try again - might even be on my 250 Bantam, who knows?
