Just a quick update ... Howard has confirmed that there will be a ride out to the London Motorcycle Museum from the Ace cafe on the 29th ... if he gets 15 or more riders you will get a discount ... it's only 4.5 miles each way so achievable for all

Howard has put a lot of effort into this, so if you can, go along and help him make it a day to remember and perhaps he will feel like having another next year thumbs-up

Wotcha.

Yesterday I took the Bantam on a "pre-Ace" test run.  A 170 mile round trip to the Ponderosa Cafe at the top of the Horseshoe Pass.  My surgery passed with flying colours, thumbs-up my leg only protested a bit thumbs-up and the Bantam threw a sulkembarassed.  Twice the rear sprocket bolts worked loose.  I intend to take the rear wheel out later today and modify it to take some M6 cap heads ( Allen Pins ).

I've booked myself in at Chris's Cafe, Stokenchurch, for Saturday night . . . .so anyone wishing to do the same as last year,  ie. Meet at Chris's around 09:00, then ride into London and the Ace Cafe - let me know and I'll make sure I wait thumbs-up

Hi LW,Kathy

there might be a Devon contingent pitch up - whether we turn up at the Ace or stop at Stokenchurch and do the riding-in thing I'm not certain but we'll let you know, LW, one way or the other.

If I were coming from Bedford on a D1 (or B175 with a car wheel I picked up from Bedford) I wouldn't consider using the motorway.

A6 to Luton, A1081 Harpenden, St Albans, Borehamwood, Edgeware and down to the North Circular.

A nicer route is via Dunstable, Whipsnade, Berkhampstead, Amersham, Gerards Cross and the A40.

See you there?

Just rode my yamaha rxs 100 from Wiltshire to London via the Ace Cafe for dinner. Its 92 miles from my house to the cafe via Oxford. Sort of a pre run for Sunday,me the missus and a mate are going to ride the same route a420 to Oxford then a40 all the way to hanger lane. I didn`t go over 45 and at one time I actually overtook something! It took me two and a half hours, not too shabby. cool

Stokenchurch sits on top of the Chilterns on the A40. You know, where all the Kites are circling

Not quite as far as you think.  It's about 20 miles from Oxford, and about 30 miles from the Ace Cafe.

Got up at 5 and was on the road for 5.45.Had to turnaround and head for home after 4 miles the bike stop running with the headlamps on.It is far too dark just on the pilot. I won't have the time to wait for daylight so I'll give it a miss this year. There is obviously a problem and Its a long way, can't risk coming back in the dark.
