Hello Fellow Members,

I have just returned from a rather damp holiday in our caravan in Cambridgeshire and understand that the weather here, even on "The Sunshine Coast", was less than perfect too.
I was glad to read on the Forum that our July 21st meeting went well and many thanks to John for organising it.
Prior to my holiday I had the opportunity to visit Ray and Jacqui, view their great collection of bikes that include several Bantams and admire Jacqui's model railway layout. Good timing for me as I am at last getting my layout sorted; it has only taken me 20 years to get organised as I built the baseboards that long ago, but house moves and other projects like building a kit-car took up so much time. Any other members have similar interests?
Our next meeting is on Friday 18th August and in order to make the most of the good weather that is surely on its' way now, (??), may I suggest that we take a ride from Horsebridge into Eastbourne and enjoy a drink along the seafront? The long winters' evenings will soon be here and a warm bar at Horsebridge will be our favoured retreat by then, so let's get out whilst we can. For my part I still haven't got my Bantam sorted for the road so I'll be riding something rather newer. Sorry.....
In my defence I have tackled other pressing projects such as a recalcitrant Morris Minor that kept stopping. I'd find the fault, fix it and then it would stop again, (repeat many times,) finally tracing it to the engine immobiliser I had fitted ages ago and as it was silicon-chip controlled there was no way of repairing that. Having removed it, a job in itself as I had wired it into the main loom, all was well but it threw its' last 'wobbly' the day before attending the Morris Minor Owner's Club Rally. Clearly an anti-social car!
The Festival of Transport is now but a few short weeks away and I need to get some firm plans in hand for layout of the Club stand. As a newly formed section of the Club this is new territory for us, although Ray has shown the way ahead. Clearly we are not yet in Ray and West Sussex league but I am sure we can put on a good show. Always keen to seek help, if anybody has ideas or can contribute to the stand in any way please contact me asap. With my EHVC hat on I have received a request from the local BSAOC for them to have a stand adjacent to ours, which seems entirely logical. I have made that request to the FoT Chairman but plans may have already have been drawn up and advised the local BSAOC via email.
Looking forward to hearing from you / meeting up with you again very soon. Keep in touch with your ideas please.
Best Regards,
