If anyone is interested there is a Classic Bike "gathering" at The National Trust run Finch Foundry, Finch Foundry is at Sticklepath around 6 miles from Okehampton on the old A30 road. I have been before (and been blessed with superb weather), it's very informal no entry fee etc, just turn up on whatever you have for an afternoons nattering and seeing what everyone else has come along on.
I will be taking my well travelled D1 and hope a few other Bantams may pitch up, the event is held in the field/carpark behind the Foundry which also conveniently backs onto a pub so a pint and a pasty is a possibility, bear in mind that you have to wait bit for the pasty as it takes some time to warm up in the Aga !!
There are plenty of Bantam friendly routes to get to Sticklepath, from the Exeter direction take the old A30 road through Cheriton Bishop, Whiddon Down etc, from the Cornwall direction again the old A30 road is a good bet Launceston, Lifton etc, I will be coming across the Moor Tavistock, Sourton, Okehampton, covered this route many times on the Bantam.
Hope the weather is good (again) and hope to see you there.
BSA Bantam D1 "150" in use regularly often as general purpose transport, quite a few other bikes as well. Cornwall Area Rep.
