Frame numbers can be found on the majority of early models (up to about 1966) to the left/front of the headstock (on the early models it could be on the front downtube just below the headstock or by the engine mount).

Later models (from about 1966), it should be on the left hand side of the front engine mount. They can be very faint, go easy with any abrasives or you may obliterate it! Late GPO models may be on the headstock to avoid being covered by the legshields/crashbars.

Engine numbers can be found stamped into the left hand crankcase, either around the front engine mounting lug on early models or on the top/left just behind the cylinder below the carburettor (there should also be matching casing pairing numbers on the bottom of both crankcase halves).
