Wotcha.

Yep - I've returned to the flock with another Bantam.

I sold my first ** Please log in to view **.

Then I went and sold the Sports at the national rally last year.  This left a Bantam shaped hole in the garage ( and my life ).

The cure for this ?  Buy another Bantam of course.

So here we go - the trials and tribulations of resorting / modifying / and generally getting a Bantam up to spec.

Great to have you back with your detailed breakdowns. I will pay particular attention to your assessment of the state of the gearbox, when it`s back in the limelight 🙂

Wotcha.

Little bit more done today.

Side stand fitted - log book arrived - an odd discovery on the rear tyre.

Wotcha.

Onward, ever onward.

Bearings and seals are now fitted.   Kickstart quadrant problem is solved.  The the bits that need powder coating have been taken off, labeled, and dropped off at the powder coaters - they don't know when they will get done due to the current plague.

Wheels have been pulled apart ready for new rims, spokes, bearings . . . . and no doubt tyres and tubes when the time comes.

Wotcha.

Well the engine is now done - new everything apart from clutch plates, and they may get changed eventually.

The powder coating has come back - the hubs  have gone off to have stainless rims and spokes fitted.  New wheel bearings have arrived.

Fork stanchions have gone off for refurbishment - can't find any new ones in stock anywhere.

So that's where we are up to now. . . . will add more when I get the bits and pieces back together again.

Top work to your usual high standards & great timescale Mr Wolf 🙂

Nice to see she`s been treated to that model`s meaty centre plug head.

Did she turn up with the correct B175 carb and didn`t you fit a Mikuni to a previous Bantam you owned?

Are there some nice exposed spring shockers waiting in the wings, with better boings for your bucks? ...or am I getting ahead of the curve?

Wotcha.

The correct carb came with the bike - it was full of gunge and  had the wrong main jet, but hopefully all that's been sorted now.

Never fitted a Mikuni to a Bantam, but have got 'em on the A65, the Goldie and the MZ.  I don't think the bikes start as easily as with a tickled Amal, but they all seem to run alright.

Normal shrouded shocks I'm afraid.
