Hi All,

The D14/4 that i am rebuilding does not have a speedo drive so i need to get one but there are a lot of different parts numbers for the smiths speedo drives. I believe the ratio is 19:10 for the 18'' wheel models but i cannot find out the hole size. Does anyone know the hole size and part number.

Thanks a lot for your help. Paul

Hi Stewart,

Thanks for reply, i have been here on and off for quite a while. My first post was Jan 5th 2013 in 'D14 rebuilds forum' headed 'another D14 rebuild by Sparky'. I have not been able to log back in as that forum member so have registered again. Getting back on as that first registration would be great if possible but if not i will continue with the new one.

I will try that search.

Thanks again Paul (Sparky)

Hi all,

I have searched everywhere for the size of the hole but can't find the information.

I have measured the axle at 16mm or 5/8 or 0.629 of an inch.

Looking on Baxters cycle website they list a speedo drive with a hole at 0.645 of an inch with a ratio of 21:10. The part number is BG5330/104.

If anyone has a spare or a wheel apart on a D14 at the moment can they check this number please, i really don't want to order the wrong part.

Thanks again Paul
