Hi all

I am continuing to strip the frame ready for blasting and painting, however upon taking the headstock apart I noticed the cups are badly worn/damaged and it would appear that there is a shortage of these items.

I see Dragonfly can supply tapered bearings but it needs to have a step on the bottom yoke.

I have attached a couple of pictures (I hope) can anyone say if this yoke has a step or not please.

Has anyone fitted taper bearings and did it work ok? Did a google search but nothing with a report if they worked or not.

I have tapered roller bearings on the B175. Got them from SRM .....they make a noticable difference....very positive steering and a lovely smooth ride.

thats only for the D1>D5 with NO step on the bottom yoke. so not D7 >>D10>>
People have done it for the later bikes but not easy, see

Hi Coddy,

Your best bet IMO would be to ask Draganfly (spares@draganfly.co.uk) what the correct part numbers are, I've found them to be both knowledgeable and very helpful.

I have a B175 front end that I am planning to fit to my D10 frame and I wanted taper roller races for it. Draganfly told me that the races that I need are

65-5319TR upper race
40-5027TR lower race

As Sponge says, taper roller head bearings make a significant difference to a bike. Once tried you won't want to go back!

your D10 will have a step on the bottom of the bottom yoke.
but I was wrong dragonfly do have the lower taper bearing for that,
and the top race, but £74 for two small bearing is a bit extravagant I think
