I'm halfway to completing a nuts and bolts restoration of a D14 but am having difficulty in sorting out the handlebars to fit. The parts book for the Supreme gives handlebars 68-4968 but these do not appear to be available from the usual sources. Instead I acquired a set of 90-4992 which were fitted to the Sports model. However, these are very flat with little rise and are relatively narrow at 22" width.

If the only handlebars available are 90-4992, I might have to fit them but I would be interested if anyone has any views on availability of handlebars for the D14?

I didn't think the subject of fitting the correct handlebars on a D14 Supreme would be so challenging! According to the parts book, this model was originally fitted with standard width 68-4968 handlebars which were the same as on the '68 B25 - hopefully, I will be able to buy a set of these.

The much narrower 90-4992, which now seems to be the most commonly available handlebars, are only 22" wide and were fitted to the Sports model. My question was really about whether these narrower handlebars were now fitted by most people to their D14's. To me, they don't look right and so I will fit the proper wider ones.
