Hello,

I was wondering could anyone tell me the period correct rear lamp I should have for my 1969 d14/4?

Is it the Wipac 143? I see a few for sale advertised for the D3 that look similar, some with a red numberplate element, some with a clear. Thanks in advance

As A club member you can avail yourself of the parts list for your model where plate 12 will reveal all.

Many thanks, I’ve had a look at that. I can’t see any reference to whether it’s a specifically a series 143, and what markings I should be looking out for to make it properly original.

Any input greatly appreciated

By the time the D14 was being built they were likely to be fitted with anything which came to hand,so I would not agonize over originality if you use the Wipac part no.S.3611 it is clearer.

there are two types of Wipac “Sabrina” rear lamps the early 143 versions (part no. S0088) and later 143b versions (part no. S3611)
since you cant get the early version any more its the S3611 or nothing

Thanks all for the replies.

I have acquired an original early model 3 lamp 143 variant.

Would I have any issues installing this on the original wiring loom? The wiring diagram in the manuals only shows a single bulb.

Thanks again

they both have two live wire inputs one for brake light and one for the rear light,
the 143 versions (part no. S0088) also had an earth wire which you may will have to add and is a good idea anyway
