Hello again,
Think I may have been having a brain fade moment when I asked about the cable. I was trying to route it down the front tube & under the engine, thinking this was the most direct route.
Looking at it this morning I changed it's route to under the tank & down the centre tube. Lo & behold it fits !!
Senior moment.
Barrie.

Just pulled my D14 out of the garage and photographed the speedo cable. The cable is about 58" long and routed in this way is quite long enough and has no nasty bends. As far as I know this is the correct route.
From speedo drive, along the swinging arm, under the engine, part way up the downtube, into the slot between the headlamp nacelle and lower fork yoke, into the speedo head.
See pictures below.
Mike.

Hi,
My new cable arrived and at 58” is a very good fit on my Bushman taking the under the engine route, I actually took it under the bash plate as going above it brought the cable very close to the exhaust.
Regards.
D7/14 hybrid (4 speed with D7 crank etc.) on the road, D10 Bushman awaiting rebuilding.
