HI chaps...my original centre stand on my b175 had the usual 'worn away' feet and worn top lugs..so not having welding equipment.. i decided  to get one from classic bikes...they list a D14 stand and a part no..but sadly its an inch too short..the new one is 8 inches mine is 9 inches..(hmm..no comments about size please)..if i wanted a 'new one' I will like any recomendations..or perhaps an unworn one from a member?

Hi.
I remember other people having problems obtaining stands for the B175 and Bantam Sport models. They use part number 82-8706.
The D7,D10 and D14 use part number 90-4729.
I have done a quick google search on part number 82-8706 and they are being sold as D14 stands and they are quoted as being 8".
My guess is that the correct 9" part number 82-8706 is going to be difficult to get.
However I came across one company that indicates that it has both types, MCA Aston LTD. Tel : 0121 554 6644.
They are trade only so may not deal with individuals directly, but it may be worth giving them a call. I did a search on their site for part number 82-8706 and it comes up as a Bantam B175 centre stand. It states low stock, so they may not actually have one.
If they won't sell directly to an individual they will probably refer you to one of their distributors.
Probably worth trying them, if you get no luck anywhere else.
Draganfly Motorcycles list one but they have no stock, maybe worth asking if they can get one.
Good luck.
