Is there a modern colour match for the blue on a 1969 B175? TIA, Tony

See my previous posts on BSA paint shades. The actual shade of BSA Polychromatic Aircraft Blue was wholly dependant upon which day of the week it was mixed up on and it is very hard to get a definitive colour match. In truth it matters not and anybody who says you have the wrong shade or colour is talking through his exhaust pipe.  I have a B175 tank here and a set of B175 side panels both in original BSA paintwork and they are noticably different shades. This is pretty normal. So it depends upon wether you want a bike that looks nice or a bike that looks like it has just been thrown into a box by the factory and then assembled by the BSA dealer...two different concepts for originality.

A good starting point would be RAL 5022 applied over silver but if you want it to look like a new Bantam as delivered I would suggest have a few different shades on different parts so you can claim originality. That's how they came from the factory.

Some dealers would mix and match to get a bike as consistent as they could but others were not bothered.
