Tim's 1953 D1 Plunger restoration.

HI everyone. I've recently acquired a 1953 D1 Plunger which I am currently stripping back to base metal for an eventual respray.

i have found that the bike has at some point in its history had a front end shunt and the frame is bent around the area of the yoke.

IMG_0942.JPGDoes anyone know a where I can get hold of a detailed frame setup drawing. I have checked extensively on the web and there only appears to be later model drawings available.

Hi Tim

Looks like a very complete project and it looks great in bare metal.

It clearly shows in the picture where you need to straighten the frame, I don't think you would need any plans, as a good long straight edge would show you where it is bend, a good fabricating shop should easily straighten the frame if you can't do it your self.

Good luck, let us know how you go.

1950 D1 plunger for daily use, Concourse 1948 D1 rigid, 1949 Aus. PMG replica D1 project and a 1949 rigid D1 survivor.
